Membership The City of Hagerstown provides a yearly contribution to the Municipal Band that enables it to operate as well as provide a small compensation to the musicians for their time and talents for each week's rehearsals and concert. Compensated positions are usually filled by those who played previously. Vacancies do become available from time to time and substitutes are always needed. If you have appropriate experience as a band musician, have excellent sight-reading skills, and can be available on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:00 PM for rehearsals and Sunday evening for 7:30 - 8:30 PM for concerts for all or some of the eleven weeks of the summer season, there might be opportunities for you to perform with the Band. If you are interested during the season, come to City Park and talk with the Director and Section Leader prior to or after a rehearsal. More information will be provided at that time.
