The Hagerstown Municipal Band The Hagerstown Municipal Band was organized in 1915. The Band is an established organization, supported by the City of Hagerstown, and has a reputation of well trained, dedicated musicians, a high level of performance and quality programming. A season of eleven, free, Sunday night concerts in City Park are provided during the summer months. Rehearsals are held Monday and Thursday evenings in advance of each concert. A stipend is provided to all players. The Band is an integral part of cultural enrichment in the Tri-state area. Band members are from all walks of life, and all ages. Talented young musicians from area school music programs begin with the band during high school and continue through college. This provides the students with an experience and repertoire that has proved to be invaluable to those that pursue a musical career. Many of our members are public school and college music teachers and several are former U.S. Military Band Members.
